A little about Stein …
Stein received his BSc. with Honours in Civil Engineering from Queen’s University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, and a Registered Home Inspector (RHI) with the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI). Stein is also a graduate of the Carson Dunlop home inspection program, and an applicant member of the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors.
Stein spent his early career focused on infrastructure projects related to water supply, sanitation, water resources and other civil works, both in Canada and in several developing countries, including several overseas postings. He’s worked for a range of public and private clients such as national and provincial governments, municipalities, aid agencies.
Stein has been active in the residential housing sector since 2005, when he began working with local builders to design and build custom homes for individual clients. He also consulted for Natural Resources Canada’s Local Energy Efficiency Partnership Project (LEEP), developing a cost database of energy efficient / renewable home construction technologies, which was distributed nationally to land developers and builders across Canada, to promote their application / uptake.
In 2018 Stein transitioned from home design / build into home inspection, to provide critical services to Ottawa’s real estate market. Providing homebuyers and sellers alike with professional and trusted insight towards achieving their goals is a continually rewarding occupation which is never dull!
